Here’s 2012. In Italy, 2 people died for fireworks and hundreds of people were injured (people lost an eye, or a hand). A lot of children among them. Let’s call them firebomb, and not fireworks, but still: why buy those stupid objects? you hear it explode, with a possibility to hurt you yourself, and that’s it. You’re not cooler, you’re not richer, you’re not healthier. So, what’s the point? is it under this circumstances we want to start a new year? Every year is the same. Years are passing , people don’t evolve.

2012 is starting: let’s go!
Christmas is over. And, like every year, when you’re drinking some good italian wine (wait, there are wines from other countries?) and talking with some friends, the fatal question arrives: what do you wish for yourself for the next year?
Well, usually 94% of the things I’m saying at this time of the year are not going to happen. It’s not because I don’t want to, but because two weeks from now I will have other things in mind. But still, it’s always good to write them down, ’cause in december 2012 I will read them and say: look, I did only two things out of 24.
So, here is a list of things I wanna do, I wanna have, I wanna see to happen, I would like other people to do. Random thoughts to conclude this awesome 2011.
Google.com and Google.de: SERPs comparison
I am a huge fan of SEOmoz blog. Their beginner’s guide to SEO was the first thing I read when I started my SEO career.
In their blog, they keep me updated to a lot of things related to the SEO world, experimenting a lot, and writing things down in a way everybody can understand . And maybe this is the greatest thing: I’m not so technical -yet- , but it’s always a pleasure to read their post, first of all because I can understand.
Often their results and evidences are done using Google.com , since they are based in US. That’s perfectly logical , but at the same time their results are different from what I’m seeing here in Germany , using google.de or google.it.
Last post I read on SEOmoz was “Counting to 10 the Google way” by Dr. Pete J. Meyers , talking about the state of SERPs is on Google.com, with differences between personalized and unpersonalized search.
Like I said, these results are done using Google.com. So I was wondering: am I gonna see the same SERPs using google.de?
Human behavior vs Nike Air Jordan
I was on Google+ looking for some cool stuff , and I found an interesting post by Avinash Kaushik . He is co-founder of Market Motive and Digital Marketing Evangelist for Google. I mean, quite a guy.
The post I’m talking about is called “Apple you’ve got nothing on Nike: Air Jordan Edition”. I like Apple, I like Nike. So I decided to read the post.
The news is Nike released a new pair of Nike Air Jordan sneakers, retro style, black and white. Price: 180$. Thousands of people were in line waiting for the stores to open to grab the new shoes. When was the time, people went mad, smashing doors and “started getting trampled and bum-rushed — the doors fell on some girls’ heads and … it was horrible, it was real bad”, a witness said.
