Big brands on Google.it

I have to be honest. I never thought I was going to do a lot of research on Google for big fashion brands. I mean, I’m always wearing cheap things, because I prefer to spend money on technology and music.

Both for work and for passion on topic, I’m looking a lot to first positions in the SERPs for big brands and I’m having a lot of fun, seeing what kind of spammy and crappy sites Google is presenting to me.

So , here we go. This post has more sense for italian people reading this, but still I wanna write in English because I have to improve the language 🙂

I was searching for “ugg australia” on Google.it.

UGG Australia on Google.it

So, as expected, first result is the official site. No surprise here.

The importance of not being selfish

It’s almost Christmas. I have to admit: I’m a big fan of christmas holidays. I don’t know, it seems to me that during this period you can breathe a different air in the streets, people looks different. Maybe it’s because of the lights, or because a lot of kids are in the streets and they seem happier than the month before.

I even like to buy some presents for people I love, to prepare christmas tree (Giulia and I were a little bit in advance, since our tree was up and running on november) and to go through Christmas’ markets. I don’t understand why people are so worried to make presents for 150 people because “they have to”. No, you don’t have to, but it’s a long story and I don’t wanna talk about that.

Happy Christmas

So, this year was really amazing for me: I moved to Berlin with Giulia, I had and have a nice and warm house, I had an amazing job in an amazing company, I had the possibility of working as SEO even if I am a molecular biologist, I had an amazing team working with me….I mean, AMAZING is the word.

For all these reasons, I decided I wanted to donate something for two reasons: for the very first time I can give some money I earned working; secondly, I simply wanna help somebody.

Top 18 albums of 2011

The end of the year is near. Every december around the web you can find every sort of “best of 2011” lists, including best albums, best SEO articles, best movies, best YouTube clips and on and on and on.

I mean, it’s really fun. By nature, I am more interested in lists talking about “best albums of 2011”, because I always check to know everything out there, or at least about music I am interested of.

Every year I have a look to the lists by Pitchfork , Bleep and Resident Advisor . Then I try to find lists by single artists I like the most, and at the end of this process, I start to order CDs and vinyls from Amazon (when I want to be “legal”).

So I decided to publish mine. The reason is simple. I wanted to have something that shows to my friends out there what I listened to the most during this year. I mean, it could be cool to discover new music thanks to me!

How I set up my site

I’m not a geek. I’m not a tech savy. I just wanted to have my own personal site.

Come on, it’s kinda cool to have a place where you can write about things your passionate about, or things you want to share with our people.

So, once I decided, first step was: how should I set up my site?

Here what I’ve done. First thing, I knew I wanted my site based on WordPress. I was using a lot this awesome platform with other blogs and it’s really user-friendly. I’ve never used other platforms, like Blogger, but I know that a lot of sites I admire and I read a lot are based on WP , so the choice was made.
