Random thoughts on New Zealand

  1. People smile. A lot.
  2. People are telling me “Welcome in New Zealand” every time they discover I just arrived.
  3. I was scared to drive a car since everything is the opposite here. And my brain is not that advanced.
  4. I work near the beach. And every time I look at the sea, it amazes me in a way I couldn’t believe it.
  5. My digital agency is small, but for the first time I feel I can do more rock and roll shit. So, small places are definitely a go. Plus, we talk a lot and NOT via skype. 
  6. I’m discovering a lot of cafes around Auckland. I compiled a list on Foursquare because cafes are awesome.
  7. I love where I’m living. In few days, I’ll have my own place with Giulia with a nice little garden and fiber internet. (I know, that’s geeky to say, but FIBER).
  8. It’s raining, it’s cold, no wait…there is the sun and it’s bloody hot…what’s this? rain again? Four season in a day.
  9. There is a general calm around I love.
  10. You say “thank you” to the driver every time you get off the bus. Isn’t this awesome?
  11. Music gigs are bloody expensive.
  12. Kiwis make a lot of sport. And I don’t do anything. But I need to start. It’s a beautiful start to keep yourself in a good shape.
  13. Auckland used to have trams. Then they decided to remove them to make room for cars. (not a great move!)
  14. If you don’t have a car, you’re screwed.
  15. Public transportations are fucked.
  16. I started to discover some national magazines like Metro, North & South and The Listener. The Listener is the best so far.
  17. Food courts are the way to go if you want to eat relatively good international food spending few bucks.
  18. The spots you are seeing while walking are breathtaking.
  19. Tons of green everywhere. Tons of cars too.
  20. If you want to buy a house in Auckland, it’s gonna cost you tons of money, and this is a big issue around here.
  21. There is so much to discover outside Auckland I cannot even tell. Soon.
  22. I live in the future compared to my friends and family in Europe.
  23. I tasted cronuts for the first time. Damn, they’re an experience.
  24. I hope to take some kiwi accent in my way of talking english.
  25. I have a tumblr if you wanna take a look at some photos.
  26. Dogs everywhere. And for me it’s a good thing, since I thought I was scared by them. Simply I was not used to them.
  27. Gonna be weird to have Christmas during summer. And winter during European summer. I mean, whaaaat???
  28. I met already beautiful people here. Relationships are more easy and simple.
  29. I hate bullet points.
